Keeping Children Safe - Our Core Purpose
We believe that one of the key roles of our school is to provide a caring, positive, safe and stimulating environment which promotes the social, physical and moral development of every individual child in our care, so that they grow up secure, confident and independent.
It is clear, therefore, that the health, safety and well-being of all the children in our care are of paramount importance. Our pupils have the right to protection, regardless of age, gender, race, culture or disability.
We recognise that all staff members have a full and active part to play in protecting our pupils from harm.
The first point of contact for anyone who has a concern about the safety and well-being of a pupil is the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
In Mr Mills’ absence, contact should be made with the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSLs).

At Swindon Village Primary School, Mrs. Sara Hulbert, is the Governor Safeguarding Lead.
Mrs Brown is the Mental Health and Domestic Abuse Lead.
All concerns regarding child protection issues in the school should be referred to Mr. Mills in the first instance. This responsibility extends to every member of our community and it is of vital importance that all concerns are reported in confidence without delay to the Safeguarding Team.
