Lifesavers Financial Education

Swindon Village Primary School are delighted to be taking part in the LifeSavers financial education programme - helping our pupils learn about money and how to manage it wisely.

Charity Donations - SVPS Summer Fair

Throughout the Summer Term, the children have learnt about charities and how we can choose to donate money to good causes.  At the SVPS Summer Fair on 16th June, each SVPS House will be donating 50% of its stall takings to a different local charity:

MONTPELLIER - Rotary Club of Cheltenham

SANDFORD - Children's Society Cheltenham

HATHERLEY - Gloucestershire Deaf Association

SANDFORD - St Lawrence Church Swindon Village

Savings Clubs

The programme runs across two core strands - financial education in the classroom linked to Maths and our School Values, alongside Savings Clubs for children to develop into financially confident young people.

The initial Savings Clubs in Year 2 and Year 5 have proved a huge success, with children learning about saving and setting savings targets with the emphasis on developing a positive attitude and understanding of saving money.

Parents' Workshop

In 2018-2019 we intend to roll-out the Savings Clubs to every Year Group in the school, and ahead of this, parents and carers are warmly invited to take part in our first parents workshop on Thursday 5th July.  Sign-up letters will be sent out in the coming weeks.
