On Thursday 13th June, our Girls’ Football Team,
representing Cheltenham Town Football Club, headed off to Brentford Football Stadium,
in London. They had reached the finals stages of the Premier League Primary
Stars National Finals. This was a massive achievement for our school and for
Cheltenham Town Football Club, making history as this was the first time the
club had reached the finals.
The girls were treated to a very special day, full of football, photos, interviews, cameras, behind the scenes, and obviously playing other finalists. We played all our group matches and finished top! Only the top team of each group goes through. We had progressed to the semi-finals - what an achievement that is! Unfortunately, we were beaten by Fleetwood, who were the deserving winners of the Tournament.
The girls represented SVPS and Cheltenham Town brilliantly, with a super attitude, team spirit, and a respectful manner. They thoroughly enjoyed the whole journey and experience. We are so proud of them as a team. Well done to: Captain Harriet, Mia, Zofia, Bella, Sophia, Rosie, Alisha and Aimee. Keep shining you little stars. Mrs Brown 🙂
