On Friday 22nd March, the last day of term, our Girls’ Football Team represented Cheltenham Town in The National Primary Stars under 11s Tournament at Wolverhampton Wanderers training ground.
They played 6 other teams in their group from around the Midlands, winning 5 and drawing 1, finishing 2nd in their group on goal difference. This put them in the 3rd place play off which they won.
They will now be going to the National Finals Tournament at Brentford Football Stadium, in London, against all the other finalists from around the country.
They played their socks off, not losing a match!! Their determination, team spirit, listening and acting upon direction from the sideline certainly added to their performance; never complaining about decisions made. A credit to themselves and the school.
We are extremely proud of their achievements over this school year. We wish them luck on the finals day in June and see what that brings. Congratulations to: Sophia, Harriet, Mia, Zofia, Bella, Aimee, Alisha and Rosie.
