On Thursday 9th November
our A team girls played in the finals of the ESFA Cheltenham District Girls’ Football
Competition. They had won their group matches previously, which put them
through to the group winner's finals. They
played two schools, and drew against Dunalley 1-1 and beat Berkhamsted 6-0.
These results put them into the finals against Holy Apostles, who won their
matches on the other pitch.
This was a very close match and through great defending, an amazing save by Aimee and the pressure the rest of the team put on the opposition in the attacking end, we won 1-0. This was a great achievement for our SVPS Girls’ Football Team. I cannot express enough how good these girls played. Their determination, team spirit, self-belief and super attitude helped them to succeed, not forgetting their fantstic football skills, they played brilliantly.
Well done to Bella, Mia, Zofia, Alisha, Rosie, Sophia, Harriet, and Aimee.
Thank you to parents for lifts and staying to support.
We are all so proud of you all. We now represent Cheltenham Town as the district winners and go onto the County Finals in March 2024.
