On Friday our A Team Boys’ Football Team took part in the Albert Dix Football Tournament.
They played extremely well; they had 3 matches in their group and won 2 and drew 1, which put them into the group winners matches at Prestbury St Mary’s. SVPS made it through to the semi-finals, and the team spirit, determination and self-belief the boys showed was amazing to see. They met St Gregory’s in the semi-finals. We took an early lead in the first half, against a very physical team. The boys continued to preserve and were determined not to let the opposition get the better of them. Unfortunately, the opposition’s attacking force were just too strong on the day, and SVPS didn't make it to the final.
We cannot express enough how well our A team played that afternoon and cannot fault their attitude. They played so well as a team in all their matches and never gave up. They should be very proud of how they played and how they conducted themselves that afternoon, and especially during their last match.
Well done: Oliver, Harry, Rhys, Isaac, Liam, Charlie, Jack, and Archie in making it to the semi- finals.
Thank you to then parents who gave lifts and stayed to support. Mrs Brown 🙂
