Vacancy 1: SEND Teaching Assistant - 26.25 hours a week [Grade 5]

The successful candidate will work extremely closely with the classroom teacher and Inclusion team to ensure that each child has the appropriate support to be successful. We provide a supportive environment where guidance and training are provided.

The post is split into two contracts, one for each child.  

  • Child A will be a temporary fixed term contract linked to the child for 18.75 hours a week [9:00am – 12:45pm, Mon – Fri]
  • Child B will be a temporary fixed term contract linked to the child for 7½ hours a week [1:30pm – 3:00pm]

Vacancy 2: 27.50 hours a week [Grade 5]

The successful candidate will work extremely closely with the classroom teacher and Inclusion team to ensure that each child has the appropriate support to be successful. We provide a supportive environment where guidance and training are provided.

  • Child B will be a temporary fixed term contract linked to the child for 12.5 hours a week [9:30am – 12:00pm, Mon – Fri]
  • Child A will be a temporary fixed term contract linked to the child for 15 hours a week [12:30pm – 3:30pm, Mon – Fri]

Vacancy 3: 15 hours a week [Grade 5]

The successful candidate will work extremely closely with the classroom teacher and Inclusion team to ensure that each child has the appropriate support to be successful. We provide a supportive environment where guidance and training are provided. 

This will be a 1 year fixed term contract for 15 hours a week [9:30am – 12:30pm, Mon – Fri] commencing on 1st September 2022.

Vacancy 4: 20 hours a week [Grade 5]

The successful candidate will work extremely closely with the classroom teacher and Inclusion team to ensure that the child has the appropriate support to be successful. We provide a supportive environment where guidance and training are provided.

This will be a temporary, fixed term contract, linked to the child, for 20 hours a week [8:30am – 12:30pm, Mon – Fri] commencing on 1st September 2022.

Vacancy 5: Intervention Teacher [Grade 7]

The successful candidate will work as part of our Inclusion team teaching interventions and support programmes (to include nurture) to a variety of children across the school.  It is essential that the successful candidate has knowledge of teaching children with special educational needs and as such will be required to plan, prepare, teach and assess children with special educational needs. Group sizes and age ranges will vary from 4 – 11 and from lesson to lesson. The successful candidate will be required to plan exciting and creative lessons which will allow the children to reach their full potential. There will be a dedicated learning environment which also has direct access to a secure outdoor area.

This position is open to qualified HLTAs or Teachers who are experienced in working with children with additional needs. This post is NOT suitable for ECT or RQT.

The contract will be for 33.75 hrs a week for 43.50 weeks a year + holiday entitlement (6.19 weeks up to 5yrs continuous employment with GCC or 7.19 weeks for over 5yrs)

Contracted Hours:

·         Mon – Fri, 8:15am – 4:00pm: This time is for setting up, teaching intervention groups and marking. Children will be back in class for 3:00pm daily.

·         TTO (38wks) + Inset Days (1wk)

The additional 4.50 paid weeks are to cover the following:

  • Weekly Staff Meeting: To attend weekly staff meetings with the teachers
  • PPA Time: PPA time will be taken outside your teaching hours in school.
  • Room Preparation: To ensure that your teaching room, learning resources, lessons and other key resources are ready for the start of each term.
  • Additional Activities: Additional hours have been built in to allow for extra-curricular activities and whole school ‘life’…e.g. discos, school fayres, other events involving children in your intervention groups…etc
