The Governors of Swindon Village Primary School are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team. We require a qualified Teaching Assistant to work 20hrs a week (Monday to Friday 8.30am to 12.30pm).

The post is Term Time Only (38weeks) and fixed term for 1 year from 1st September 2021. You will understand strategies to engage the children in their learning and have a range of ideas you can try. You will be skilled in motivating children, through positivity and enthusiasm, and in building confidence in their ability to learn independently.

You will be able to run small intervention groups. Experience in running speech and language, and social skills groups would be highly beneficial. You may also need to do pre-teaching and be able to make these sessions fun, interactive and multi-sensory.

You will work well as part of a team and be able to follow instructions from the teacher and also be confident to use your initiative where necessary. You will have good subject knowledge / a willingness to learn and your behaviour management will be good. You may sometimes be asked to work with other children in the class and you should be able to support any child where necessary.
