  • Parent/Carer Drop-in coffee mornings are happening at SVPS!

On the last Monday of every month, there will be drop in sessions for any of our parents or carers to pop in and have a coffee and a chat.

Mrs Brown (Parent Support Advisor)  and Mrs Edwards (Inclusion Manager) will be running/organising these sessions every month.

The first on will be on Monday 30th January 2017 from 9am to 10am in the Studio, we have arranged a guest speaker to attend the first session, Nicola Ellis-Jones from GCC, to share some practical ways to support parents and their children.

Some of the sessions could be about: Keep Calm Kids, Meditation, How to best support your children with Maths and English, How to become a Teaching Assistant and other useful courses/workshops. These will be free, if enough parents are interested. So please pop along and see what she and GCC has to offer.

Mrs Brown and Mrs Edwards will also be planning some of these drop-in sessions on other topics parents will find useful, and welcome your ideas.

These drop in sessions will then be the last Monday of every month, and the topic for discussion will be published in the school newsletter and website in advance.

We look forward to meeting and seeing many of you there.

    Mrs Brown and Mrs Edwards

  • KS1 PlayPod Fun!

I took a stroll around the KS1 playground at lunchtime today, and it was a joy to see how much the children are enjoying their PlayPod.  They couldn't wait to show me their constructions, dens, offices, buildings etc. and Lia particularly enjoyed jumping out of one of the blue bins and scaring me!  Our next delivery of play scrap is on 30th January.  I wonder what the children will be playing with next!
